This Privacy Policy describes how the CM Conference 2026 app ("the App"), developed by Jacob Dale-Rourke on behalf of Communication Matters, handles your information.

1. Who We Are

Communication Matters is a UK registered charity supporting people who rely on Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). The App is the official companion app for the Communication Matters Annual Conference 2026.

2. Information We Collect

The App collects minimal information necessary to provide its features:

• Session bookmarks and personal notes — stored locally on your device only. We do not transmit these to any server.
• Push notification token — if you grant permission, your device token is used solely to send conference announcements and alerts. It is not shared with third parties.
• Conference session data — the App reads publicly available conference schedule data from our database (Supabase) to display sessions, speakers, and announcements. This is read-only; we do not collect any personal data through this connection.

3. Information We Do NOT Collect

• We do not require account registration or login.
• We do not collect your name, email address, or any contact information.
• We do not track your location.
• We do not use advertising SDKs or analytics services.
• We do not sell or share your data with third parties.

4. Data Storage

All personal data (bookmarks, notes) is stored exclusively on your device using Apple's standard local storage. Uninstalling the App removes this data. Conference schedule data is fetched from our Supabase-hosted database; no personal identifiers are sent as part of these requests.

5. Third-Party Services

The App uses Supabase (supabase.com) to serve conference session data. Supabase processes data in accordance with its own Privacy Policy. Only non-personal, anonymised requests are made (session lists, announcements).

6. Children's Privacy

The App is intended for conference delegates, professionals, and adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

7. Your Rights

Since we do not collect personal data, there is no personal data to access, correct, or delete. To remove any locally stored data (bookmarks and notes), simply delete the App from your device.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes to the App. The updated date at the top of this page indicates when changes were last made.
